Spring is here the weather is getting warmer and my mind is filled with sooo many ideas for this Halloween season. Including my first event at the Shirt Factory in Kingston,NY. Yes I said it I will be putting on a Halloween Masquerade of sorts including a Dark Art exhibit all in the same night. "The Madman's Masquerade" Will be held on October 16th from 7pm-12am. Live entertainment, costume contest with money prizes and more, A yummy chocolate bar filled to the brim with tempting tantilizing chocolate candies, cakes and just straight up sweets. The dark art exhibit will host artwork by myself Heather Gleason, artists Anna Weber, Michael Petrossian,and Sigrid Sarda. Unique one of a kind works ranging from oil paintings, Acrylic paintings, mixed media,Jewelry and Human Wax casting...yes i said it Sigrid creates life size wax people. This will be an event you won't want to miss so mark your calenders October 16th 7pm-12am at the Shirt factory. Come out to the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ March 12,13,14 see my work in person and chat with me for a while. Craft lovers will see thousands of contemporary crafts and fine art created by more than 275 of the nation’s most accomplished craftspeople at the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival in Somerset, Friday, March 12 through Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Garden State Exhibit Center.

The jury-selected artists at the Festival will display and sell unique creations in all mediums, including affordable and innovative functional and decorative pottery, sculpture, glass, furniture and home décor, jewelry and accessories, fiber and wearables, items for the garden, fine art and photography.

The vibrant marketplace will be enhanced with family-friendly entertainment. Master craftspeople will showcase their expertise during live demonstrations, including stone carving, copper spinning, and hand thrown pottery. Visitors will also enjoy live music and children’s dress-up theater. Specialty gourmet foods are available to sample and purchase.

Open Studio

Good day everyone I am trying to catch up on so many things including this blog. SO here we go.

The Holiday BOOtique my Open studio was a big success. Alot of collectors wondered on out to say hi. I am very happy I got to chat with so many of you in a more quiet setting. I took a few pictures when I had the time.
I will have a few new themes this year Red Devils on everything and the scarecrows get payback. Look for all new surrealism pieces created in oils in the 2010 year. These pieces will be listed on Ebay, Etsy and of course here on my Website. I will also be doing personal portraits in Oils weather they be family fun or a sexy pinup twist all done in oils. If you live locally and travel to the studio your photo shoot is free. Yes I will be collaborating again this year...A mystery lady will be mentioned very soon :)
Moving into the studio left me scatterbrained trying to get myself organized. Well now that I am organized shipping out pieces will be much easier to tend to. Not like when I was working from a tiny studio at home. Thank you to all of you who have patiently waited for your orders to ship and to be completed. You are great!!

Well good day to you all. I have been busy moving all my art into my new Art studio. Working from home was fun but in reality I had so much, that it got real cluttered and I was unorganized. Moving into this new amazing space I will be able to move around and paint as many things as I like. Clutter free and much more organized. Customer service is top priority and having this studio will be much easier shipping orders and making custom pieces more pleasant to handle.
I will let the public come into my space on December 5-6th Saturday 11-6Pm Sunday 11-4 PM
I will have all sorts of paintings, functional art pieces, furniture and prints for sale. My twist on Christmas will be abundant through out my gallery space. A comfortable warm setting for you to shop this holiday season. My dear friend Jewelry designer Michael Spirito of Exhibitionist Jewelry design is coming out with an affordable line through Sears on November 15th. Mikes "Rock and Redemption" line will have affordable price tags ranging from $40.00-$200.00 in sterling silver and stainless steel. Mikes designs have been collected by Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, and Beyonce. His touch of good girl gone bad, metal twisted with beautiful crystals and precious stones is a must have. What a fun Weekend at the Garlic Festival. Saturday was full of sunshine and smiling faces, Sunday was lots of rain and very cold. Even though I was damp all day on Sunday I still had a great time meeting new people and saying hi to so many friends. Saturday many of you stopped by and was pleasantly surprised to see my new display for all my art work. I think I did a good job at surprising you all. I will be back next year but until then if you would like to order more pieces including prints keep checking back all month for updated files. I will have some spooky Holiday prints available, including some witchy greeting cards and larger one of a kind paintings.

Well good evening my friends. The New Paltz Art Show was a Huge success so much that I had sold out most of my art. It was soo wonderful meeting so many new faces and some from the past...I had so much fun! I will continue to paint day and night until my next show September 26-27 at Kantine field in Saugerties, NY..Hudson Valley Garlic Festival. I will have many original one of a kind paintings along with some limited edition prints and of course some beautiful collaborative pieces created by Artist Skip Crank and myself. I will also have some creepy garlic themed pieces available as well to go with the theme of the show...not so much fun for you vampires....lots of fun for devilish me!!

Meet Skip Crank..

Skip Crank is a unique Mind of the Art World, Skips creations are sure to turn heads and make you look twice.

I met Skip Crank a few years back via the Internet. Skip is a big fan of my fiendish Devil creatures and bought many pieces from me in the past to add to his ever growing Devil collection. Not knowing anything about Skip at the time he remained a friendly supporting collector. I stumbled upon Skip a few months ago through facebook in a weird yet embarrassing way. That is another story......we have since become great friends..chatting on the phone from NY to CA...he is a true hoot to talk to.

Skip creates his work using a variety of mixed mediums...Assemblage is his thing and he does it very well. Using old dolls...broken glass..sharp objects...to mechanical parts and wires to create his odd pieces. This is only to name a few. As he always finds that element and works with it. In the outcome of it all in my mind with a smile when i see his finished art pieces i always stare and say " I would have never thought of that" but Skip does which makes him truly a great mind.

I now own many of Skips art creations and have them displayed throughout my home and studio. Skips strange creations of old dolls, broken glass,Mixed wire formations even Blood paintings made me ask Skip for this unusual collaboration. Combining my painting and his mixed media works...I am very excited to see the finished pieces. So in the next few weeks I will post photos of our art as we work together..shipping our creations back and forth from New York to California. Some pieces will be available online others will only be available through Art shows here in NY and CA the next few months.

A vintage western electric Rotary phone from the 60's
Was revamped with Acrylic paints and creepy cool design.
Bright Halloween Orange envelopes the entire phone. Devils taunt little black cats on either side of the phone. Lots of great detail.to much to chat about so I am listing some photos. This phone is in great working order. Has the old fashioned ring no digital stuff here!! No caller ID so you have to guess who is calling. This is UNIQUE and a one of a kind creation by myself. I am offering it for sale on Ebay,Etsy and of course you can always contact me personally to purchase as well.

Well I am off to see Stone Temple Pilots tonight in CT. Very Excited i have been waiting a very long time to see these guys in concert!!

A most Creepy Collaboration.....

Well here is the official release on my book collaboration with Heather J Taylor. I am very excited to work with Heather. She is very talented and I am in awe of her writing and what she has come up with to date.

It's official! The “Heathers” have united! No, not for a remake of the killer, black comedy film, “Heathers” (although, Wynona Ryder has confirmed the sequel), but instead, acclaimed artist, Heather Gleason and writer/producer, Heather J. Taylor have decided to collaborate on a spooky children’s book inspired by Gleason’s whimsical artwork. The books do lean towards the dark side, but the two creators promise that the series is intended for a tween audience and won’t be as gruesome compared to the cult classic movie.

So, how did they meet? They instantly shared LOL’s when they met via mutual “top friends” on MySpace three years ago. Since both Heathers are huge fans of horror and share in the excitement of the “Heathers” film, they began an online friendship.

“One day I was surfing MySpace horror fans and saw Heather Taylor’s profile, which was designed as an homage to classic horror films and Madonna,” laughed Heather Gleason, artist and creator of MyEclecticMind. “After reading it, I realized we had so much in common, including our enthusiasm for horror, Madonna and spine-chilling literary works.” Through the years the Heathers have stayed in touch by the usual social online networks, but in May of 2009, Gleason created a Hollywood Witch hat for Taylor and mailed it to her home. Upon receiving the one-of-a-kind collector’s item, Taylor was immediately inspired to write.

“Without delay, I picked up the phone and called her!” exclaimed Heather J. Taylor, writer and producer for Signatures Required, LLC. “I just knew that her artistic talents and my passion for storytelling was a good match for an illustrious book.”

Since May, the Heathers have been busy collaborating on their first book, currently titled, “The First Date,” which is based on several of Gleason’s unique and eerie characters. And although, the two creators share in their passion for Halloween, the book won’t be completely centered on the pumpkin-filled holiday. The series of books will divulge spellbinding tales of rare characters and capricious deeds, but that’s all they are saying for now.

If you don’t already know, being a “Heather” means being a part of the most powerful clique in sinister history. Expect the unexpected, when it comes to this duo.

Hello Boyls and Ghouls, I am back from New York City. WOW what a weekend. It was an experience I am so glad I did not miss. So many genuinely nice people. I met up with some great collectors and some of the friendliest vendors.
I bought Guillermo Del toro's novel the Strain and it is signed YAY. I listened in while he was speaking Friday night. I was like if some huge Elvis fan saw Elvis singing in concert. NAH I wasn't that bad. My hands were shaking though and I was not even near him all the pictures I took came out blurry. YES I AM A DORK!!! A HUGE FAN!!I am sure he saw me and my giant wig..yes people it was a wig not my real hair LOL!
Michael Dougherty stopped by my table and quiet me once again clammed up and didn't really say a peep. Once again always say the wrong things. UGHHH! I love his artwork and hope his movie is a success I am not sure if it will be out in the movies? From what i have seen in the trailers it looks AWESOME I can't imagine it not being in theatres! I could only peek in due to the larger crowds in the vendor area :( So i missed out on him talking. He did give me one of his Trick R Treat photos..but he didn't sign it. He is very cute may I add. Very friendly I don't know why I clammed up?
I will be adding photos of the convention to the art show folder in my gallery later in the week. If you took pics of me at the show I would love for you to send them to me :)it was alot of fun meeting everyone.
I am taking a break from painting for as long as I can hold out which will be until tomorrow I am sure. Being Obsessive compulsive can be pretty scary at times. Especially when i can't paint.

Good morning, Lovely weather today in NY crossing my fingers for the 72 degrees the weather man has forcasted for this area. I am real excited plan on doing a little cleaning then outside to paint for today. OK..OK enough of the rambles on the weather on to art news.:)

I made a HUGE mistake risking the chance of getting T-shirts through an online store. UGHHH BIG MISTAKE!! The T-shirts I had received are not sell able and was just a big disappointment! I will be visiting a local T-shirt printing company here in Kingston NY "Sunshine T's" They created my Neurotic Nora T shirt design and the quality was outstanding. So the T's are on the back burner at this moment in time. Will keep you updated on that very shortly.

New this month Keep your eye out for a collection of Spooky greeting cards. Six different designs. High quality brilliant colored prints of some of my most favorite pieces. Including The all sinister scarecrow, Whimsical witch design, and Autumn Halloween themed prints. Truly allot of fun I can't wait till you see them :)

I have been bitten by the vintage bug and have been visited by Halloween's past. A little ghost whispered in my ear and said I am here I have not disappeared do as I say in the end you will scream Hooray!!! So I have been screaming hooray as I have been using the look and technique of Halloween's past to create some of my newest designs. Well good Day to everyone. The weather man is Predicting snow for the next few days here in NY. Not to thrilled about that! I guess skiers and snow boarders are loving it though:)
On to some art news I am glad to say I have been accepted into the WOODSTOCK-New Paltz Art and Crafts fair in New Paltz NY. So Halloween will be comming to the New Paltz show in September.

One of my most favorite shows of the season. So much fun and such great people. I was very sick at the 2008 show but I am all better this year I look forward in seeing everyone again:)

I am still yet to hear back from two other show promoters. As they become available dates will be posted.

HorrorFind Weekend dates have not been posted yet at this time.

The sun is shining and NO snow has fallen from the sky in a while YAY!!

Good Morning

Still very cold here in New York. Around 7 degrees outside. I plan on going to the movies today to see Coraline with my children. So a little afternoon break from painting will do me some good.

On to some art news. This Saturday I will be offering hand painted T-shirts On E-bay. Witches/occult and more spring themed pieces something for everyone. I will have varied sizes available and in many different colors. I will offer regular style T-shirts along with a more fitted T-shirt. Each piece Is hand designed by myself. High Quality Printed T-shirts will be available in March here on my website and on Ebay. These printed T-shirts will come in limited quantities. I will also be offering limited pieces such as Long skirts with a modern twist,and canvas bags. So check my website often for new updates.
